Alfred George Roke 11/3/1904 -10/2/2004
This site is dedicated to the memory of Alf Roke who died on 10 February 2004 and his 100th birthday would have been 11 March 2004 (the day this site was first launched ). One of his greatest passions later in life was keeping the family history alive as evidenced by his recently published book. It is my wish that this site be a meeting place for those of us who are interested in continuing in the sharing of family history as he was.
This page really represents only the very beginning of what is hoped to be a place for family trees, pictures, sound bytes and other significant pieces of information - for Rokes and those interested or related to the Roke family. Not sure where it will head but prepared to give it a go. This page is a quick beginning but as Grandpa would often say " a blind man would be pleased to see it " - Stephen Roke
If you would like to be kept informed of updates ( or even better have some info you would like to share ) please contact. At the moment the site is heavily based on the information I have available to be - but I am keen to extend this beyond my immediate family.
This rokefamily website has just been relaunched on 19th May 2009, by Alf's eldest son Don Roke on his recent 76th birthday. Included are some picture and audio galleries as well as some document resources. Very early stages still.
We'll see how that goes...
